# Rigidbody 2D Shake

## Pose 2D Shake Asset

The **Pose 2D Shake Asset** exposes the **Position** and **Rotation** properties (in addition to the common properties outlined in [Shake Settings Asset](/shakefx/core/shake-settings-asset.md)):

<figure><img src="/files/U5ij5yUTs8dYuGR18DSO" alt="" width="348"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
The **Rotation** property here is a `float`, not a `Quaternion` like it is for a 3D pose.
{% endhint %}

## Rigidbody2D ShakeFX

Add the **Rigidbody2D ShakeFX** component next to the Rigidbody 2D that you would like to shake:

**Space**:

* **World**: Forces are applied in world space.
* **Local**: Forces are applied in the object's local space.

**Force Mode**:

* **Force**: Add a continuous force to the rigidbody, using its mass.
* **Impulse**: Add an instant force impulse to the rigidbody, using its mass.
* **Velocity Change**: Add an instant velocity change to the rigidbody, ignoring its mass.
* **Acceleration**: Add a continuous acceleration to the rigidbody, ignoring its mass.

**Shake**: The default shake asset used by this component.

**Debug**: A list of active shake instances (see [Shake Debug](/shakefx/shakes/shake-debug.md)).

{% hint style="warning" %}
A Rigidbody 2D shake can only be previewed in Play Mode (Unity's physics system doesn't run in edit-mode).
{% endhint %}

# Agent Instructions: Querying This Documentation

If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://fx-engine.gitbook.io/shakefx/shakes/rigidbody-2d-shake.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
